The applicant must
(1) be in the 12th grade of high school,
(2) have at least a 3.5 unweighted GPA or above, and
(3) not be a past awardee

The objective is to provide encouragement and inspiration to young Taiwanese-Americans who are either in their first or second year in a U.S. college or university with excellent academic achievement and community services.
