2009 ACTO Outstanding Student Award

Every year ACTO gives an award to a student that it deems as outstanding based on:

  1.    academic record
  2.    public service

All students are encouraged to apply.

Eligibility

Requirements:

  1. be in the 12th grade of high school,
  2. have at least a 3.5 unweighted GPA or above, and
  3. Not be a past awardee.

Application documents need to include

  1. One page essay describing yourself and how you can effectuate ACTO's goals (see www.actous.org for more information)
  2. List of community service and awards received (include sports, music, arts, etc.) during high school;
  3. An official copy of your 2008-2009 high school transcripts;
  4. Two recommendation letters; and
  5. A photocopy of your highest SAT/ACT score from the College Board.


The selection will be made based on the application submitted.  Awardees must attend the ACTO annual banquet on November 7, 2009, at the Gaithersburg Marriot Washingtonian Center to receive an award.  Awardees will be provided with a monetary award of $500, a plaque, and one complimentary ticket to the annual banquet.
